Do you love yoga and want to go deeper? Are you interested in learning more about the poses you flow through in class and how to do variations and modifications for these? Feeling curious about why doing yoga poses in a certain sequence can make you feel so spacious and peaceful?
Then this 4 weekend Intensive, 35 Hours, with Margi and Leslie is exactly the deep dive you have been looking for. .
August 23 & 24. The Vertical Path: Standing Strong from Root to Crown
12:30 - 5:30 PM
· Standing poses are the bedrock of a strong and balanced yoga practice. They teach us how to ground through the feet, align through the spine, and rise through the crown with stability and ease. In this immersive weekend, we’ll explore these foundational shapes not only from a physical perspective, but through the subtle lens of the chakra system—a map of energy centers that align along the spine and influence our body, mind, and spirit.
· You’ll learn how to build standing poses from the ground up—refining everything from foot placement to energetic extension—while cultivating a deeper sense of presence and inner steadiness.
· Each day includes:
· Deep Practice (12:30–2:30 PM):
A breath-centered asana class that dives into essential standing postures, with focused attention on alignment, anatomical integrity, and energetic embodiment. We’ll explore how each pose supports the qualities of specific chakras—from the grounding stability of Muladhara to the expansive clarity of Sahasrara.
· Interactive Lab (3:00–5:00 PM):
A hands-on session to break down poses, explore modifications, and integrate props and adjustments. You’ll gain tools for sequencing, teaching, and refining your own practice with confidence. Ideal for yoga teachers, trainees, and dedicated students.
· On Sunday Leslie will introduce working with the chakra system as a subtle guide for alignment and transformation. These vibrating centers of energy, arranged along the spine, influence our physical, psychological, and energetic health. When balanced, prana flows freely along the nadis—supporting vitality, insight, and resilience.
· Whether you're a newer student or an experienced practitioner, this weekend will help you stand taller, move with intention, and connect to the deeper currents of energy within.
Root down. Rise up. Align from the inside out.
September 20 & 21 ~ Backbends: Opening to the Unknown
12:30 - 5:30 PM
From the moment we're born, our attention and our bodies move forward. We reach, grasp, crawl, and walk into the world ahead of us. But in doing so, we often forget the back body, the unseen terrain that supports us. Over time, our front bodies—home to the heart, lungs, and belly—become protective, guarded, and contracted, especially in response to grief, fear, or stress.
In this weekend workshop, we turn toward the bold and expansive world of backbends—postures that challenge our physical patterns and our emotional habits. These poses ask us to expose the most tender part of ourselves: the front body. And in doing so, they help awaken courage, clarity, and joy.
Together, we will:
· Explore the biomechanics of healthy, sustainable backbends
· Build strength and stability in the legs, back, and shoulders
· Develop flexibility and openness in the chest, spine, and hip flexors
· Use breath and awareness to soften fear and cultivate enthusiasm
· Learn how to modify or deepen backbends depending on your needs
Whether you’re new to backbending or looking to refine your practice, this workshop will offer both foundational techniques and deeper insights. You'll leave feeling energized, more upright in posture and spirit, and with a renewed sense of openness—physically and emotionally.
October 4 & 5: The Art of Turning Inward: A Weekend of Forward Bends & Twists
12:30 - 5:30 PM
In a world that often pulls us outward, yoga offers the radical invitation to turn inward. Nowhere is that invitation more potent than in forward bends and twists—two families of postures that nourish the nervous system, restore balance, and deepen our connection to the quiet wisdom within.
Forward bends invite us to fold gently into ourselves, releasing the outer gaze and softening the mental chatter. These postures stretch the back body, but direct our attention to the front torso, cultivating subtle length and inner spaciousness. Twists, on the other hand, offer a kind of internal alchemy. As the spine spirals and the torso wrings, the abdominal organs are massaged, the spine is refreshed, and the whole body receives a gentle detoxification.
Together, these postures support rest, renewal, and clarity.
In this weekend workshop, we’ll explore these forms not just as physical shapes, but as doorways into emotional quietude and energetic balance.
We will:
· Refine the fundamentals of healthy forward bending—hinging at the hips, not the waist
· Practice safe, integrated twisting to support spinal health and organ vitality
· Use gravity and breath to passively stretch the posterior chain and wring out internal stagnation
· Explore how twists stimulate digestion, relieve backaches, and “rinse and soak” the abdominal organs
· Develop strength and flexibility in the spine, hamstrings, and hips
· Work with breath to soothe the nervous system and reduce anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia
· Learn therapeutic applications for high blood pressure, headaches, asthma, and sciatica
· Explore sequencing: when to use forward bends and twists alone or in combination
Twists and forward bends both teach us to listen more deeply. In their quiet power, we find a kind of cleansing—of the body, the mind, and the emotional landscape. These postures don’t shout for our attention; they whisper us back to wholeness.
Join us for a weekend of slowing down, tuning in, and exploring the healing architecture of folding and spiraling.
November 1 & 2 ~ Defying Gravity: Inversions & Arm Balances for Strength, Stability, and Perspective
12:30 - 5 PM
Inversions and arm balances ask us to meet the edge of our comfort zone—physically, mentally, and energetically. In this dynamic workshop, we’ll explore what happens when we turn the body upside down and lift it off the ground, discovering how these shapes can strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, and shift our perspective.
Inversions—any pose in which the head is below the heart—are revered for their powerful effects on the nervous system, circulation, and inner organs. Arm balances, on the other hand, build core and upper body strength while cultivating focus, resilience, and a playful spirit.
Whether you're working toward Salamba Sirsasana (Headstand), Bakasana (Crow), or a supported variation of Shoulderstand or Side Plank, this workshop offers a well-rounded exploration of flight, balance, and trust.
We’ll explore:
· The physiology and energetic effects of going upside down
· Techniques to protect the neck and shoulders with blankets and props
· How inversions regulate the endocrine system and soothe the nervous system
· The strength, stability, and proprioception developed through arm balances
· Tips for building confidence, courage, and curiosity in challenging poses
· Accessible alternatives and entry points for all levels of practice
This workshop is best suited for students with a consistent yoga practice. Modifications and prop-based variations will be offered throughout.
Please note: Inverted poses are not appropriate for those with high blood pressure, heart conditions, detached retina, certain ear disorders, or during menstruation.
Come ready to turn yourself upside down and lift yourself off the ground—safely, skillfully, and maybe even joyfully.
