Katonah Yoga: The Three Floors of the Body

March 29, April 12, April 26

with Maggie Zebrine

$60 per session, $135 for the series

A three week workshop series of communal and contact-filled yoga to get curious about yourself and the world around you. We will cultivate meaningful movement steeped in Katonah Yoga theory— guided by metaphor, geometry, and Taoism.

The sessions will be divided into the three floors of the body working from the ground up to explore the stability of the low body, the ability of the upper body, and the vision of the mind.

Drop into a session that peaks your curiosity or have a well-rounded and layered experience by attending all three.

6 Hours bankable towards Katonah Yoga certification.

MARCH 29th: Pt 1. GROUND OF BEING

Part one will explore the soulfulness of the lower body with emphasis on Katonah Yoga asana that gets you into your hips and stirs your waters. Learn movement and theory to be more rooted, stable, and tenacious.

Pt 2. SPRING FORWARD

Part two will focus on expanding the capacity of the second floor— the torso. We’ll practice active breath techniques to enliven the lungs, change perspective with twists, and potentiate through backbends. This session will be exceptionally potent for the rising energy of the spring season. Come spring forward to be concentrated and radiant.

Pt 3. IMAGINATION & INSIGHT

Part three is for integration. Let the imagination beget insight with the poetry of practice. We’ll play techniques to not lose your mind in your body. Practice will include movement to find your spit and spirit up, active restorative shapes with ample hands on adjustments, and subtle breath techniques and meditation. An embodied reminder that you can, in fact, always change your mind.
